Various places to visit in Jaipur
If you come to Rajasthan and do not visit Jaipur, then
your coming to Rajasthan is pointless. If you pay attention, Jaipur is the
capital of India's largest state Rajasthan. Jaipur city was established on 18
November 1727 AD, whose foundation was laid by Kachwaha ruler Sawai Jai Singh
(1700-1743 AD). If you visit Jaipur, you will find that the buildings here are
pink in color, due to which it is known as "Gulabi Nagar". Now let us
know about the various places of interest in Jaipur:-
1. Hawa Mahal
It is a majestic palace. It was
built in the year 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh and was designed by
architect Lal Chand Usta like a 'Rajmukut'. It is a 5-storey building, which
looks like a beehive when viewed from outside, in which 953 very beautiful and
attractive small lattice windows, which are called Jharokha.
These windows were made of lattice
so that the ladies of the royal family could observe the street ceremonies and
activities of everyday life in the corridors below the palace from these
windows. In addition, due to the "Venturi effect", cold air is always
coming inside the palace through these intricately structured lattice windows,
due to which the palace always remains air-conditioned even in hot summers.
It is made of lime, red and pink
sandstone. This building is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha.
